Using APIs
Managing subscriptions
Usage, switching plans, cancelling and resuming.
Console → My Subscriptions lists every API you're subscribed to, with this month's usage, the plan, its status and the renewal date. Click a subscription to see its details.
The subscription page
- Usage this period: requests made, errors, success rate, and a chart of calls over time.
- Plan & limits: your quota, rate limit, concurrent-request limit and overage price, if any.
- Endpoints: quick links into the playground for this API.
- Billing for this API: every invoice tied to this subscription.
Subscription statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Active | Everything's working. |
| Trialing | You're in a free trial; the first charge happens when it ends. |
| Past due | A renewal payment wasn't received. API access is paused until the invoice is paid. See Billing and payments. |
| Canceled | The subscription has ended. |
| Expired | The subscription ended because a renewal was never paid. |
Switching plans
To upgrade or downgrade, open the API's Pricing tab and click Switch to This Plan on the plan you want.
- The switch happens immediately.
- You pay the new plan's full monthly price, and a new full billing month starts today, with a fresh quota. There's no partial-month (pro-rata) calculation, so what you pay is always the plan price you see.
- If you'd used more than your old plan's quota on an overage plan, that overage is billed at the same time, so it isn't lost when you switch.
- Switching to a free plan costs nothing.
Cancelling
Open the API's Pricing tab (or its subscription page) and click Cancel Subscription. Tell us why (it helps providers improve) and confirm.
- Paid plans stay active until the end of the month you've already paid for, then end. You won't be charged again.
- Free plans end immediately.
Changed your mind? Resume
If you cancel a paid plan and then decide to keep it, click Resume before the period ends. The subscription carries on as if you'd never cancelled. Once the period has ended, subscribe again from the Pricing tab.
Unsubscribing completely
Cancelling is unsubscribing. When the subscription ends, calls to that API stop working (403 FORBIDDEN), while your API key keeps working for your other subscriptions.
