Using APIs

Analytics and request logs

See every call you make, filter it, and debug failures.

The Console gives you a complete picture of how you use APIs: how many calls you make, what they cost, and the details of every single request.

Analytics

Console → Analytics summarises everything you're subscribed to, over the last 7 days, 30 days, 90 days or year:

  • Total API calls, total spend, success rate and errors, each compared with the previous period;
  • a chart of calls over time, daily, weekly or monthly;
  • Top APIs by usage: which subscriptions you actually use, with calls, success rate and errors.

Request logs

Console → Request Logs lists every call you've made through the gateway, whether it was accepted, rejected or failed. For each call you can see the time, API, method and path, status code, latency and error code.

Filtering

Narrow the list by:

  • Search: API name, path or error code;
  • Method and status (success, client errors 4xx, server errors 5xx);
  • date range, including quick ranges such as the last hour or last 7 days;
  • latency (response time in milliseconds), HTTP code, error type and IP address.

Saved views

Save a set of filters you use often (for example "Failed calls this week") and reapply it with one click. Saved views are stored in this browser only.

Live updates

The logs refresh automatically every 30 seconds, or click Refresh now. Use Columns to choose which columns to show.

Debugging a failed call

  1. Find the call in Request Logs (filter by status 4xx or 5xx).
  2. Check the status and error code against Error codes.
  3. If the error came from the API itself, read the endpoint's documented errors, or ask the provider using Discussions or Contact Provider, quoting the request ID.
